Jatani Bonaya is an astute young Ethiopian Lecturer and Senior Researcher at Dilla University, Ethiopia with hands-on experience in Water Engineering, Climate Change, Pastoralism, Community engagement, and advocacy. Jatani is an Author, Poet, Global Peace Ambassador, Youth Opportunity Country Ambassador, Community activist, Peacebuilding activist, and an ardent advocate for Climate Action, Pastoralism, Education, WASH, and Environmental Sustainability. He has a BSc in Water Supply and Sanitary Engineering, an MSc in Civil Engineering (MCE), and another MSc in Project Management, Analysis, and Evaluation (MPMAE). He is a serial volunteer for several NGOs and currently, he is working as a Communication Director at Active Youth Initiative (AYI) and Africa Youth Pastoralist Initiative Ethiopia Chapter voluntarily. Jatani is the founder and CEO of Daayyaa Generation Network (DGN). He is also a member of the Borana Professionals Association (BPA), Gayo Pastoralist Development Initiative (GPDI), and Co-founder of the Borana Scholars Association (BoSA. He is the best position paper winner of the 2021 Arica Youth Leadership Model United Nations (AYLMUN) held at Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, the winner of the IGAD peace campaign poem from Ethiopia in 2021, and the winner of the Gadisa Literary Award 2023. He is a Climate Leader trained by the AGNES.
