Ismail is a certified Climate Action Teacher from the Common Wealth of Learning, Canada, with hands-on experience in educating learners from primary, secondary, and tertiary institutions on Climate Action and all it entails. Ismail earned his first degree from the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria Nigeria, with a bachelor’s degree in Microbiology. He is currently in pursuit of a master’s degree in Biotechnology at the Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna. It was his love for #SDG13 that unleashed the serial volunteer in him, as he currently doubles as the Spokesperson and Communications Director for the Global Youth Climate Action Initiative; better known as the Climate Action Group (CAG). Due to his selflessness and contributions towards climate action, he was voted youth leader for his local community, where he has educated hundreds of students on Climate Change, environmental sustainability and the SDGs. Ismail is an ardent advocate for Universal Health Coverage (UHC), WASH and environmental sustainability.
