Grace Mhangwa
Grace Mhangwa is a dedicated Climate Smart Agriculture Specialist, who is employed by the Ministry of Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water, and Rural Development and currently attached to a Smallholder Agriculture Cluster Project funded by International Fund for Agriculture Development (IFAD).
Holding a Bachelor’s degree in Natural Resources Management and Master’s degrees in Ecological Resources Management and Food Nutrition Security and Rural Development, Grace has a solid foundation in sustainable agriculture and environmental management. Throughout her professional journey, Grace has shown a strong commitment to addressing the challenges posed by climate change on agriculture. She has actively supported policies that promote sustainable farming practices and climate-smart agriculture. Grace’s advocacy work extends to her collaborations with various organizations such as the World Food Programme (WFP) and the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).
At IFAD, Grace’s responsibilities include developing and implementing projects aimed at assisting smallholder farmers in adapting to climate change and enhancing their resilience. She plays a pivotal role in conducting research, providing technical assistance, and organizing capacity building initiatives to foster sustainable agriculture and food security in rural areas. With her extensive knowledge in climate smart agriculture and her unwavering dedication to policy development, Grace remains a leading figure in the global fight against climate change. Her mission revolves around empowering farmers to take ownership of their communities and spearheading the creation of a more sustainable and resilient agricultural sector.
