With over seven (7) years of field experience and 250 infrastructural projects as a consultant, George Akingi Wairoma is a licensed expert in Environmental and Social Impact Assessment; Environmental Health and Safety Expert; and, Climate Change Specialist-Climate Finance. Specialising in environmental and social impact assessment/audit; strategic & social environmental impact assessment; environmental monitoring; environment and social due diligence; environmental sustainability; risk assessment; fire safety; and, occupational safety and health audits, etc., Wairoma is skilled and experienced in providing expert advice, undertaking various studies and conducting community engagements-community public participation. Wairoma holds a Bachelor of Environmental Planning and Management from Kenyatta University and is a professional member of the International Association for Impact Assessment (IAIA). Wairoma is currently an Associate Environmental Consultant with Earthcare Services Limited; a Director at Greyfos Limited-an Environmental and Sustainability Consultancy Firm; and, the Organising Secretary of Osieko Small Simba Football Club-through which I organize annual tournaments aimed at creating awareness among participating communities (4) on environmental protection, conservation, climate change and its impacts. Wairoma has also worked with Hanell International as a volunteer Environmental Officer; Climate Technology Centre and Network (CTCN) as a Research Assistant; and, China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) as an Environmental Monitoring, health and Safety Officer, platforms he has used to learn, spread and create awareness on climate change. Wairoma advocates for climate change inclusion in Environmental and Social Impact Assessment studies and reporting (over 250) by incorporating key climate change tenets and mitigating climate drivers; sensitizes and creates awareness amongst project hosting communities (over 200 involved) through public participation on matters climate change; and, writes, publishes and shares articles on climate change with over 1000 professional connections on LinkedIn. And as a graduand climate leader from AGNES, having been equipped with the requisite knowledge, skills and better understanding, expanding my reach and audience is the mission.
