Dr.Abayineh Amare
Assistant professor at Jimma University
Abayineh Amare is an assistant professor at Jimma University, Ethiopia since 2018. He has a BSC degree in Agricultural Sciences, and MSc in Rural Development. He has obtained his PhD in Environment and Development Studies. He has an extensive research portfolio in diverse areas of Climate-smart agriculture, resilience to climate change, climate change adaptation, food security, livelihood vulnerability, livelihood and diversification, index-based livestock insurance, natural disaster management, and agricultural development strategies and policies among others. He has also received numerous awards, including from the Africa Climate Leadership Program (AfriCLP), the Africa Climate Change Fellowship Program (ACCFP), and the DAAD In-Country Scholarship program. . Recently, he has received an award to stay at Nordic Africa Institute, Sweden as a Guest Researcher within the framework for Guest Researcher Scholarship Program. Currently, Dr.Amare has been selected as a mentor for post graduate students who received a scholarship of Leadership for Africa organized by University of Cologne, Germany.
