David Andrew Okon
David Andrew Okon is a dynamic and resourceful Climate Change Professional with hands-on experience on Disaster Management, Environmental Impact Assessment and community engagement. He holds a Masters in International Affairs and Diplomacy after his Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural and Bio-Resources Engineering both from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria.
He is passionate about academia and facilitating research into diverse topics with an organized and precision-minded approach. He is highly interested in research opportunities and collaborations in fields that will constantly push the limits of his capabilities. David is a serial volunteer for several NGOs where he enjoys taking up roles as project manager/facilitator to incorporate practical experiences to bridge the knowledge gaps in climate change adaptation and mitigation, environmental sustainability and disaster risk reduction.
David Andrew Okon is a Researcher and Instructor at the Institute of Disaster Management and Safety Science, Abuja, Nigeria where he currently works. With his educational background in International Affairs and Diplomacy, David is committed to addressing climate change issues globally through effective governance and proffering diplomatic solutions. David is a Climate Leader trained by the African Group of Negotiators Expert Support (AGNES). He is a strong advocate of environmental sustainability, disaster risk reduction, natural resources management, climate justice and the Sustainable Development Goals.
